Meet my newest quilt top: Penny Rose Thimbles. It's a 37x52" wall hanging, inspired by a Thimbleblossoms pattern.
A Favorite Collection!
A few years ago, Riley Blake (Gerri Robinson) released the Penny Lane fabrics, and they are a favorite of mine, so I bought a few jelly rolls and layer cakes and yardage. The fabric reminds me of the colors of our wedding (the flowers and my nieces all were soft pink, and the groom and groomsmen were all in tan and white). Plus it's bright and cheerful and fun florals and patterns.
Quilt #1:
A few years ago, I made a double wedding ring quilt, using the OCR ruler/system, and it's still one of my favorite projects.
Quilt #2
With the changes to my sewing studio this fall, I now have more wall space, and so I decided to take the layer cake (and some of the jelly strips and yardage) and create a sewing thimble quilt, partially based on a thimble blossoms pattern. I just finished it today, and it's ready to go to the long-arm quilter, when my current quilt is ready to be picked up.
This Thimbles quilt was the first quilt top I have finished on my new Juki. I really love how the machine sews - so smooth and straight. Like cutting through butter with a hot knife!
Quilt #3?
In fact, I had so much fun sewing the borders and sashing on (something I always used to
hate), that I'm considering giving a Jelly Roll Race a try, with the remaining Jelly Roll from this collection. Stay tuned, and we'll see if that task is one I'm ready to tackle.
Thanks for stopping by!
