This week, the Moda Blockheads 6 pattern is "Spinning into Spring" By Lynne McCray. It's a relatively simple block with 8 Half Square Triangles, sashing, m and a small square in the center. This is my version:
I focused on this small red floral print for two reasons. My recent EQ8 design session helped me to decide to use this print as the inner border, so I want to use more of it in the body of the quilt, so it makes more sense. I also need more red in later blocks, so that my very red/dark first block fits in!
I oriented mine a bit differently than others, mine looks more like a spinning pinwheel that stretches out to the corners. Others' look like a big "X" or butterfly. I love how so many people can take the same basic design and get something totally different!
This is a photo of all my blocks together, so far:
We're at week 6, and have 2 of the 8 bonus blocks, so I have 8 full-size blocks and three of the minis. This is really fun and I can't wait for next Wednesday's release!
Thanks for stopping by!
